Power System Analysis
Whether you are in involved with power plant design, system modelling, grid connections or protection and control, power system analysis tools can help you validate your design concept, assess the performance of your plant under a range of conditions and optimise the performance and reliability of your protection system.
PSE 2 provides a wide range of power system studies for transmission networks, generation plants, large and small industrial users and distribution companies. Our team of power systems engineers are able to model utility as well as industrial networks from LV up to the highest voltages. The studies are undertaken using power system modelling tools such as: DIgSILENT Power Factory, ERACS, IPSA, ETAP and PSCAD. We have extensive experience modelling entire distribution networks and we have developed processes and algorithms to exchange power system models from one software package to another.
Steady-State Analyses & Time Domain Analyses
Some of the steady-state and time domain analyses that we offer are:
- Load Flow and Short-Circuit Analysis
- Fault Infeed Calculation
- Protection Coordination Studies
- Protection Commissioning
- Arc Flash Studies
- Transient Stability / Dynamic Studies
- Insulation Coordination
- Grid Connection Studies
- Electromagnetic Transients
- Power Quality Assessments
Power System Modelling Training Courses
PSE 2 has particular expertise in the use of the ERACS power system analysis suite and have been closely involved in the development and testing of this software over many years. PSE 2 offers training courses covering aspects of power system modelling; ERACS being our selected platform. As power system modelling covers many areas PSE2 can tailor courses specifically for a project team or target training for a specific sector (e.g. harmonic modelling or fault infeed for new connections).
Please contact us if you have identified a training need in this area.
